. Heavy rainfall from early today has caused Shoal Creek Near Iron City to rise
above action stage. The level should peak below flood stage this afternoon then
fall below action stage by late tonight.

* At 10 AM Wednesday the stage was 10.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* The river will rise to near 11.5 feet today, then fall this evening. &&

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM CDT FOR MORGAN AND CENTRAL LAWRENCE COUNTIES... At 1224 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing one to three inches of rain across the warned area over the last couple of hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly, or may already be occurring. Street flooding has already been reported in the City of Decatur. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Decatur, Hartselle, Moulton, Priceville, Trinity, Falkville, Town Creek, Courtland, Somerville and North Courtland.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
