NWS Huntsville (Northern Alabama)

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama... Central Colbert County in northwestern Alabama...

* Until 930 AM CDT.

* At 625 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Killen, Cherokee, St. Florian, Underwood-Petersville, Northwest Alabama Regional Airport and Mt Hester.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

NWS Memphis (Western Tennessee, Eastern Arkansas and Northern Mississippi)

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... East central Pontotoc County in northeastern Mississippi... Northwestern Itawamba County in northeastern Mississippi... Central Lee County in northeastern Mississippi...

* Until 845 AM CDT.

* At 539 AM CDT...Training thunderstorms are producing heavy rainfall from eastern Pontotoc County, to northwest Itawamba County, including the Tupelo area. Doppler Radar estimates that 2 to 3 inches of rain has occurred over the past 2 hours and an additional 1 to 2 inches are possible over the next hour.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tupelo, Fulton, Verona, Tombigbee State Park, Saltillo, Guntown, Plantersville, Mantachie, Pratts Friendship, Sandy Springs, Furrs, Clay, Sherman, Mooreville, Eggville, Ballardsville, Kirkville, Flowerdale, Beech Springs and Skyline.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Areas Affected: Tishomingo

NWS Memphis (Western Tennessee, Eastern Arkansas and Northern Mississippi)

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... Northern Tishomingo County in northeastern Mississippi...

* Until 700 AM CDT.

* At 458 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to training showers and thunderstorms. Total rainfall amounts up to 2 inches have fallen across northern Tishomingo County. Rain will continue to taper off, but runoff from previous heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... J P Coleman State Park, Burnsville, Pineflat, Bacon Springs and Doskie.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
