...FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES TO BE IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY 7 AM CDT... The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following areas, Bedford, Cheatham, Clay, Davidson, Dickson, Giles, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Perry, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Wayne, Williamson and Wilson.

* Through Thursday morning

* Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue moving northward into mid state region as a strong storm system develops over the southern plains and pushes eastward.

* Two to three inches of rainfall, with locally higher amounts especially in locations experiencing training of heavy rainfall, will be possible across the watch area. The watch area is for locations generally west of the Cumberland Plateau Region.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON CDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman Counties.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to noon CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING... The National Weather Service in Huntsville has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including the following areas, in Alabama, Cullman, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan. In southern middle Tennessee, Franklin TN, Lincoln and Moore.

* Through Thursday morning

* Heavy rainfall will move into Northern Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee later this afternoon and evening, after much of the Central and Eastern portions of the area received 2 to locally 4 inch rainfall amounts. Additional rainfall is expected as Zeta passes to the south and east of the area overnight. Storm total rainfall amounts in the watch area will range from 2 to potentially 5 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* A portion of northeast Alabama, including the following area, DeKalb.

* Through Thursday morning

* Heavy rainfall will move into Northeastern Alabama later this afternoon and evening, after much of the Central and Eastern portions of the area received 2 to locally 4 inch rainfall amounts. Additional rainfall is expected as Zeta passes to the south and east of the area overnight. Storm total rainfall amounts in the watch area will range from 2 to potentially 5 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.
