* Until 900 AM CDT.
* At 314 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicates that light rain continues to fall across the Flood Warning area this morning. Automated rain gauges suggest that between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen since Saturday evening. Flooding is already occurring in the warning area. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Albertville, Fort Payne, Boaz, Guntersville, Arab, Rainsville, Crossville, Sylvania, Fyffe, Geraldine, Valley Head, Hammondville, Mentone, Pine Ridge, Lakeview, Chigger Hill, Hopewell, Skirum, Whiton and Painter. Bucks Pocket State Park, DeSoto State Park, Lake Guntersville State Park, and Little River Canyon National Preserve are also areas that will be affected by flooding. Additional rainfall amounts up to one half of an inch are possible in the warning area.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is already occurring. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
