NWS Memphis (Western Tennessee, Eastern Arkansas and Northern Mississippi)

...Strong northerly winds expected across the entire Midsouth this afternoon and into early Sunday Morning... ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CST SUNDAY...

* WINDS...Northerly winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph.

* TIMING...Saturday 12 PM CST to 3 AM CST Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Loose outdoor items will be vulnerable to the strong winds. Travel may become difficult and hazardous...especially on east to west roadways and for high profile vehicles.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 25 mph or greater are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.


Flood Warning

Areas Affected: Colbert

NWS Huntsville (Northern Alabama)

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Southwestern Colbert County in northwestern Alabama...

* Until 330 PM CST.

* At 936 AM CST, reporting gauges indicate a rapid rise on Bear Creek at Bishop. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cherokee, Malone, Mynot, Mt Hester, Margerum, Maud and Allsboro.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. Please report any flooding to the National Weather Service. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM CST THIS EVENING... The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CST this evening.

* WINDS...Southwest winds will increase to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* TIMING...From 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* LOCATIONS...Portions of north central, northeast and northwest Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 25 mph, or gusts of at least 35 mph, are expected across the affected area. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. In addition, ensure all loose outdoor objects remain secure, including patio furniture and trash cans.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Southwestern Madison County in north central Alabama...

* Until 430 PM CST.

* At 127 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain over the area. The rain will cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana, Marshall Space Flight Center, University Of Alabama In Huntsville and Harvest.
