1 homeowner murdered, 1 shot in Harvest home invasion now believed to be targeted attack

UPDATE: Brent Patterson, Madison County Sheriff's Office spokesman, said law enforcement officials believe the victims and the offender or offenders knew each other, and that it was a targeted attack.

Madison County Sheriff's Office deputies are on the scene of a home invasion on Lockhart Road in Harvest.

Brent Patterson with the Madison County Sheriff's Office says there are two victims. One is confirmed dead.

Patterson said the victims are the homeowners, and that both were shot multiple times.

Madison County Coroner Dr. Tyler Berryhill said the death has been ruled a homicide.

He identified the victim as Sam Moore II, 43.

Family members tell WAAY 31 the other victim is Demetrius Pettus.

Don Webster with HEMSI confirmed this was a shooting. One victim is male the other is female. Both were transported to Huntsville Hospital in "extreme life-threatening condition."

Patterson says no suspect(s) are in custody.

The call came in at 5:58am. Thursday. There is no threat to the public, according to Patterson.
