Dog bite leaves Huntsville child with ‘serious but non-life-threatening injuries’

A Huntsville child is being treated for “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” after being bitten by a dog Friday afternoon, according to the Huntsville Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of Griffith Drive and Evans Avenue about 3:44 p.m. Police said the child was taken to Huntsville Hospital Women’s and Children by the parents.

Officers found the dog and made contact with the owners. Huntsville Animal Control responded and took possession of the dog.
