time is ??? let's take a look at the stories we're following as you head out the door. we begin with waay 31's casey albritton. today the department of corrections is expected to release it's 20-19 20-20 strategic plan on how it will continue to improve alabama prison conditions. vo we're told the plan will focus on four main areas: infrastructure, programming, culture, and staffing. this comes after the department of justice investigated the state prisons and found inmates rights are being violated. the investigation found inmates are not being protected from sexual assault, violence, and drug abuse. this week senate passed the state budget which will give the department of corrections 46-million- dollars. alyssa happening today -- the huntsville city council will begin discussing a replacement for a board of education member who resigned. district five board of ed member pam hill resigned... saying that's what's best for her health. jefferson city police begin door-to-door searches of homes after a tornado ripped through a three-square mile section of the capital of missouri. 20 injuries were reported in jefferson city. 3 people died in a separate tornado near golden city. greg? happening today, the man known as the "american taliban" is set to walk free from federal prison... john lindh was captured in afghanistan in 2001--he was sentenced for providing support to the taliban. lindh also played a role in an attack that left a c-i-a officer from alabama dead the pentagon is reportedly ready to share a plan with the white house. that plan could send thousands more u-s troops to the middle east. according to officials ... the pentagon is scheduled to detail their proposal to senior members of president trump's national security team. that briefing could come as soon as today. happening today, the u-l-a atlas 5 rocket booster and part of the engine will be delivered from decatur to florida. this is the rocket that'll launch
