A local company is committing time and resources to bring a Vietnam War Memorial replica to Huntsville.  Intuitive Research and Technology Company  is a Huntsville based company where Veterans comprise approximately 40% of their total workforce.  To support their Veteran initiatives, INTUITIVE has not only partnered with local organizations to bring The Wall that Heals to Huntsville, they have also committed a large volunteer force to assist with the setup of the Wall.

The Wall that Heals is a three-quarter replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.  Shaped like the original Memorial, The Wall That Heals is chevron-shaped and visitors can do name rubbings of service members.  There are 140 numbered panels with LED lighting so that The Wall can be read day or night.

The Wall is brought in a 53-foot trailer that transforms into an Education Center.  Outside, the trailer features a timeline of “The War and The Wall.”  The exhibits give an in depth look at the legacy of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and a collection of items left at The Wall.

INTUITIVE agreed to sponsor The Wall as a way to give back to the Veteran Community of Huntsville and offer a rewarding project for employees to collaborate on.  The opportunity to participate in The Wall set up was appealing to many INTUITIVE team members, so many in fact there is now a waiting list for the October 31st event. Participating partners include the City of Huntsville, AUSA Redstone-Huntsville Chapter, the Huntsville Madison County Veterans Memorial, the Commemorative Partner Program of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietname War and hosted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1067.

The Wall That Heals will be open 24-hours a day November 1-3 and until 3pm November 4th at John Hunt Park.  Security, Chaplains, and Counselors will be on-site for visitors.

WAAY-31 is proud to partner with Intuitive Research and Technology Company to share The Wall That Heals.
