Huntsville’s Crestwood Medical Center screening patients for coronavirus before elective surgeries

Madison County officials discussed their response to the coronavirus pandemic in a news conference on Monday at Huntsville City Hall.

UPDATE: Crestwood Medical Center CEO Dr. Pam Hudson said the hospital has restarted elective surgeries. She said they are screening patients undergoing elective procedures to make sure they do not have coronavirus.

Hudson also urged people to wear face masks.

Madison County Commission Chairman Dale Strong discussed county facilities reopening on Monday to the public. He said there was a large volume of visitors for vehicle tag and license renewals.

Strong also reminded vehicle registration for March, April and May is extended until June 19.

The next news conference will be on Wednesday at noon.
