UPDATE: The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office says it is adding additional precautions and following CDC guidelines. It says it is using online and phone services when possible.
The sheriff’s office is taking the temperatures of people booked in the jail, and staff has personal protective equipment to use. The jail now has coronavirus test kits.
Limestone County government buildings are closed to the public. The public should use online and phone services. County employees continue to work.
People are urged to use social distancing and stay home if sick.
The Limestone County Coronavirus Task Force is holding a news conference on Thursday at 1 p.m.
During this news conference, we will hear from Dr. Nauman Qureshi and Dr. Paul Fry on behalf of Athens-Limestone Hospital.
