11-month-old child killed, 3 injured in Athens wreck

Officials are investigating the cause of the wreck.

Update: An 11-month-old child, Everly Derringer, died and three other people were injured. The wreck involved three vehicles.

One person was taken to Huntsville Hospital and everyone else was taken to Athens Limestone Hospital, according to Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson.

Officials are investigating the cause of the wreck. Traffic is flowing again.

Athens police are asking drivers to avoid the U.S. 31 and Elm Street intersection due to a wreck.
