Too much rain delays construction of Florence Middle School

Copious rainfall delays construction of Florence Middle School

Posted: Apr 25, 2018 10:52 PM

Construction on the new Florence Middle School was slowed down by the weather.

Since January, a little more than two feet of rain fell in the Shoals. School administrators say those rainy days have put construction on the middle school behind by about 30 days.

The $34 million middle school is being built by B-H Craig Construction right beside Braly Stadium. The school system told WAAY 31 the construction company is working double shifts and weekends to make up for the rain delays.

The new school is expected to welcome eager young students by Spring 2019.
