A late night wreck shut down part of Winchester Road on Thursday.


A driver in his mid-teens was heading east along Winchester near Oscar Patterson Road when his car left the roadway around 11:15 p.m.

The car ended up hitting a drainage ditch and flipped onto its roof on the side of the road.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash along with the Huntsville-Madison County Rescue Squad and other agencies.

Crews were able to remove the driver from the car and took him to Huntsville Hospital with minor injuries.

The road completely reopened at 12:45 a.m.
