UPDATE: The Limestone County Coroner identified the teenager as 16-year-old Maria Leeanne Holt.

Right now, we do not know whether she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Holt was a student of Clements High School. This is the second student from the school who has died from a car accident this week.

14-year-old Addie Baker died Wednesday during a rollover accident involving a utility vehicle on Blackburn Road.

The Limestone County School District already mentioned having extra counselors at the school when students start on Monday.

A teenaged girl from Athens was killed after the car she was driving left the roadway and hit a tree, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The accident happened at 9:25 p.m. Saturday on Parker Road.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA State Troopers are still investigating the crash.

We will update this article as we learn more.
