Sparkman Indoor Percussion, or SIP, finished 4th overall and 1st in the Percussion Scholastic Open Classification

The Sparkman Indoor Percussion Ensemble traveled to Dayton, OH to compete in the Percussion World Championships recently.

Sparkman Indoor Percussion, or SIP, finished 4th overall and 1st in the music caption in the Percussion Scholastic Open Classification.

SIP completed against other schools from around the country in preliminary, semi-finals, and finals competitions which were held at BB&T Arena at Northern Kentucky University and the University of Dayton Arena.

"I am very proud to represent Sparkman High School and even more proud of the recent accomplishments of the Sparkman Indoor Percussion and of all of our students who participate in the Arts, Athletics and who excel academically," Madison County School Board member Dave Weiss stated.

"Our sdents perform at an extraordinarily high level in all areas, and the 4th Place finish of the Sparkman Indoor Percussion at the Dayton World Championships is just another example of the excellence that is Sparkman High School: from Cheerleading Squad, to JROTC, to our Varsity Boys/Girls Basketball to name just a few."
