A Decatur man was taken to jail Friday after Morgan County authorities said they found marijuana and a stolen handgun in his apartment.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said Carlton Conrad Williams Jr., 34, had a pound of marijuana, digital scales, vacuum seal bags and a stolen handgun in his apartment when they searched it Friday.
Williams's wife and 2-month-old daughter were also in the apartment when they found the drugs, authorities said.
Williams was charged with first-degree marijuana possesion, authorities said. He also had warrants for his arrest for selling methamphetamine, they said.
Wiliams was jailed on $40,000 bond.
The infant was placed in the temporary custody of family members by the Morgan County Department of Human Resources.
