A multi million dollar resort style hotel that is coming to Town Madison in 2020, which is the same time the new minor league baseball stadium will be finished.
Right now, there is an empty field where both the stadium and hotel will go, but in just 2 years the area will be all lit up with action.
Austin Deese of Madison can't remember a resort style hotel, like the coming Margaritaville Hotel, ever being in the area.
"I think definitely it's unique to madison. It's something we've never seen before. I think it will be a good change maybe to madison. Maybe liven it up a little," said Deese.
He's also a fan of the baseball stadium and team being right next door.
"I think its good for us to get a baseball team and get madison's name out there," said Deese.
Breland Companies, who is developing Town Madison, said the two projects are linked together, because they want to capitalize on people and other teams coming to town for baseball games.
Just a five minute drive away from Town Madison going east on 565 and then north on Research Park Boulevard you'll find Bridge Street and Mid City.
Both have restaurants and shops, but the developers of Town Madison said the competition with those locations won't hurt the businesses that will call here home.
"When bridge street opened several years ago think how much we've grown just since that's happened. There's certainly space in this market and in this region for multiple projects. Those projects are just a little bit different then what we're doing here," said Breland Companies Spokesman Joey Ceci.
Even though Deese is a fan of the projects he's concerned the city of Madison isn't doing enough to prepare for the influx of cars Town Madison will bring.
"That's a big battle I have with it is all the traffic. Getting to work. Five o'clock you're never going to get home," said Deese.
With the baseball field and the new hotel there is 200 million dollars worth of projects coming to the area just because of Town Madison.
