Update at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday: The Colbert County coroner confirms the victim killed in the crash is a 4-year-old boy.
Muscle Shoals police confirm a total of five vehicles, including a mobile home, were in the crash, and two people were med-flighted to Huntsville.
Update: Authorities said the crash actually happened on 2nd Street and Glendale Avenue. They said the location was originally believed to be Gusmus Avenue.
2nd Street is shut down in both lanes from Gusmus Avenue to Firestone Avenue.
Muscle Shoals police said at least three vehicles were involved along with a mobile home that was being transported.
Multiple people were flown to Huntsville Hospital.
Muscle Shoals police provided the following statement Wednesday evening:
"Muscle Shoals Police Department is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred around 12:17pm on 2nd st and Glendale Ave . This is an ongoing investigation and out of respect for the family we are not releasing any further information at this time."
Crews are at the scene of a deadly crash in Muscle Shoals Wednesday afternoon.
The Colbert County Emergency Management Agency says at least one person was killed in the crash on Gusmus Avenue and 2nd Street.
Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash with what appears to be a mobile home that was possibly being transported.
Two MedFlight helicopters were called to the scene. Muscle Shoals police also responded.
