A Morgan County mother is being charged with torture after drug agents found her living in "deplorable conditions" with her two kids.
Agents entered a home Thursday on Forrest Chapel Road in Hartselle after obtaining a search warrant because of reported drug activity. Agents found Tiffany Lynn Beavers, 32, inside the home with her two children, ages 9 and 12.
Investigators found marijuana, methamphetamine and paraphernalia inside the home. Authorities say they were "astonished" by the living conditions inside the home as garbage and animal feces was seen throughout the home.
The county Department of Human Resources placed the kids in the care of other family members.
Beavers is charged with two counts of torture, willful abuse of a child under 18 and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Her bond is set at $100,300.
