Update: Investigators arrested Richard Odell Clark, 42, of Falkville for murder. He’s being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The sheriff’s office says it’s waiting to release the identity of the victim until family has been notified.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect turned their self in at the scene. The victim is a male, and authorities say the two were "aware of each other" before the shooting.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said deputies are on the scene of a shooting in the 1,200 block of Highway 55 E between Falkville and Eva.

The Morgan County coroner said one person is dead.

The scene is secure and there is a large law enforcement presence.

They are not searching for a suspect.

Avoid the area if possible.
