A Scottsboro man is being held in the Marshall County Jail after authorities said they found he had a working pipe bomb.
Audie Toler, 53, was arrested after Marshall County Sheriff's Office drug task force agents served a search warrant at a home on Horseshoe Bend Road in the Swearengin community early Monday morning.
During the search of the home, agents said they found the pipe bomb, methamphetamine, a handgun and drug paraphernalia.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and state explosive experts handled the pipe bomb, which authorities said was active.
Toler was charged with possession of a destructive device, drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and possession of a concealed weapon. He was jailed on bonds totaling $110,000. The ATF also will seek federal charges against Toler, authorities said.
Three other people in the home -- Amanda Nicole Toler, 28, of Scottsboro, Jessica Michelle Willis, 28, of Grant, and Matthew Allen Stpaler, 28, of Grant -- were charged with drug paraphernalia possession. Stapler also was charged with failure to appear in court. All three were jailed on $500 bonds.
