Update: The wreck has been cleared, and the road is open.
According to Chief Jason Dobbins, speed was a factor in the wreck. He says the driver ran off the road going towards Old Highway 431, colliding with a bridge embankment.
Officials are working to notify the victim's family.
The Madison County Coroner says one person was killed in the single-vehicle wreck.
The coroner says the victim was the sole occupant in the vehicle.
Madison County Fire says Old Big Cove Road will be closed from Green Mountain Road to Old Highway 431 until further notice due to the wreck.
New Hope police are helping with traffic. The Rescue Squad is also at the scene.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office says Old Big Cove at Highway 431 is shut down due to a wreck involving multiple vehicles.
