UPDATE at 1:30 p.m.: Alabama State Troopers say the crash involved three vehicles. They say one vehicle was stopped in the roadway on Jordan Road to make a left turn, and a driver behind that vehicle was not paying attention and nearly rear-ended that vehicle.
According to troopers, instead of completely rear-ending the vehicle, the driver swerved, clipped the vehicle, went into opposing lanes and hit the front of the school bus.
According to the report, the driver stated he was looking away from the roadway. No citations were issued.
A Madison County Schools bus was involved in a wreck Friday morning.
The bus was traveling from Buckhorn High School to the tech center. Students were on board at the time, and no one was injured.
The wreck happened near the tech center, and the district is notifying parents of students on the bus.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama State Troopers are working the scene at Jordan Road and Culps Drive. We’re told another vehicle hit the bus.
