The Heart of the Valley YMCA will accept $20,000 from Boeing today to help grow their science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEM, programs for children.

These STEM programs are a part of Y Afterschool programs and the Power Scholars Academy.

The Power Scholars Academy is a YMCA program that works to prevent learning loss over the summer in students from disadvantaged households.

The Heart of the Valley YMCA will accept the donation today at the Space and Missile Defense Symposium at the Von Braun Center.

The donation will go toward STEM programs at the Hogan Family YMCA in Madison and the Downtown Express and Southeast Family YMCA locations in Huntsville.
