Fort Payne woman killed in crash

Two other people were hurt in their crash, though the extent of their injuries are not known.

One woman died and two more people were hurt in a crash in Jackson County early Wednesday morning. Alabama State Troopers said Denise Santiago died after her Pontiac collided with a Chevrolet pickup on Alabama 71, just two miles south of the Georgia state line.

Santiago was pronounced dead at the scene. The two people in the Chevrolet truck were taken to the hospital for their injuries. Their conditions are not known. State Troopers continue to investigate what lead to the crash.
