The AirPower History Tour is in full swing for the weekend.

Hundreds of people are expected to get an up close and personal view of the main attraction, FiFi. She's one of the last B-29 bombers left in the world that still flies.

"To get the opportunity to come see the B-29 is really special," said Glen Kyser, a local resident.

While FiFi was only used for training near the end of World War II, a similar aircraft is best know for it's missions over Japan.

"The B-29, by bombing Japan basically into submission, and eventually dropping two atomic bombs, brought the war to an end," said Allen Benzing.

Fifi now flies nationwide as part of the Commemorative Air Force, the world's largest flying museum.

People can tour the B-29 and also buy flights.

Allen Benzing is FiFi's pilot. He says the aircraft has a special meaning for military families.

"Their father or grandfather might have flown one of these aircraft's and they can get some idea of what it's like. I always expect they will enjoy it, find it to be profound, but I'm often surprised at how much it affects them," said Benzing.

Benzing says because B-29's are such rare site, that's what attracts many people to the AirPower History tour.

"This stuff is going away, it's not going to be here forever and to get your picture taken with something like this is something you can hang on your wall and tell your grand-kids about," added Kyser.

The tour runs until 5:00 on Friday. It starts at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and ends both days at 5:00 p.m.

Access to the aircraft tour is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10-years-old through 18-years-old.

Flights can be booked on site or ahead of time.
