Huntsville Police are investigating two different angles after a deadly shooting. Investigators are working to learn what's behind the shootout that killed two people and hurt two others. They also want to know if anyone broke new restrictions on how many people can be one place at the same time.
Police said it happened at a building on Mastin Lake that two motorcycle clubs had offices in.
Mark McMurrary, Huntsville Police Chief, said right now his officers are working to determine if more than 25 people were gathered, and if they'll face citations.
McMurray said right now he is working to determine if the motorcycle clubs have business licenses in the city. He said if they do, he's asking Mayor Tommy Battle to revoke their business licenses. This is the first instance the Chief said where they have had issues with the health order..
"I'm not real happy with them gathering. I"m actually reviewing the body worn camera because I want to get a feel for how many people were actually there. I'm getting some rumors right now of some numbers pretty sure it might have been over 25," McMurray said.
McMurray believes the shooting happened between the feuding motorcycle clubs at the business. Police haven't released the names of the suspects, but said they surrounded a house earlier Friday trying to bring them all into custody. Investigators haven't released the victims' names.
The city's attorney is working to get us answers on how they go about revoking a business license from those who violate the health order.
