Huntsville police are searching for a man who they say has robbed several people in downtown Huntsville in the last month.

The robberies happened in the parking lot of the shopping center on Church Street across the street from the Huntsville public transit and the Depot Museum.
Some of the more well known businesses in the center are Cyn Shea's Cafe, Alpha, Southern States Bank and Sidetracks Music Hall.

This morning police released this surveillance video of the suspected robber.

WAAY 31's MaryLee Adams spoke with two victims who are both employees at two different businesses in the shopping center. They were robbed within 5 hours of each other as they were leaving and arriving at work.

Both are still very shaken up by the incident but agreed to go on camera without their faces shown, as the robber took several personal items including one woman's keys to her home.

They hope by speaking out it in will help find the man who did this.

"I was arriving at work at 6:30, I pulled up at my usual parking lot at the end of the building, I got out of the car, walking towards the restaurant...And I didn't even get like 15 feet and this man came up behind me and said give me your purse. I turned around, there was a gun pointing in my face and I gave him my purse."

The victim says she then took of running and so did the robber. She thinks he was hiding out behind this tree waiting for her to get out of her car.

About 5 hours earlier, another robbery took place in the same parking lot only this one involved a knife.

"Yeah it was about a little pocket knife, like a 3 or so inch blade."

This victim was leaving his workplace and described to WAAY 31 what happened next...

"As I'm getting into my car, I'm trying to set my stuff down and as I'm closing my door to leave, somebody pulls the door open and says give me your f*in wallet...And I thought it was a joke at first because you just don't expect it."

He quickly realized it was not a joke and gave the robber his wallet he then went back inside to call police. Both hope this newly released surveillance video will help to catch him.

If you have seen this man or have any information you are asked to please call Huntsville police.
