Huntsville Police are investigating an early morning grocery store burglary.

Officers were called to Clinton Avenue Grocery near the intersection of Indiana Street around 3 o'clock Monday morning.

When they arrived, police found the front door was shattered. The owners of the store met officers and reviewed the security camera footage.

The owners shared the video with WAAY 31. In the video, you can see a man throw a rock at the front door shattering it.

The man then crawled through the door and headed straight for the register.

The owners told WAAY 31 the burglar was in the store for less than one minute.

Investigators determined that a man wearing a black hoodie had broken and took off heading south from the store.

A K-9 unit was brought to the scene to help try and track down the suspect.

Store owners told WAAY 31 hundreds of dollars worth of cigarettes were stolen along with a change bucket that was behind the cash register.

If you know anything about the crime, you're asked to contact Huntsville Police.
