Huntsville Police say a man they believe has active arrest warrants is still inside of a home on Thorntons Way Circle. Because the man has made no threats to himself or the public, HPD has recalled most of their units.
HPD says they attempted to serve a warrant around 5 p.m. Wednesday. The wanted man snuck into a home on Thorntons Way Circle where he barricaded himself for hours.
At around 11 p.m., most HPD units were recalled while a few units remained on scene with U.S. Marshals to monitor the home.
Police made contact with family to attempt to gain access to the home but were unsuccessful.
This morning, neighbors in the area are back in their homes after being evacuated as a precaution.
The Huntsville Police Department reports it is "working an active incident involving a barricaded subject on Thorntons Way Circle."
Police are evacuating nearby residents.
People are asked to avoid the area.
