Currently sitting in fourth place in the SPHL standings, the Havoc enter the final weekend of the regular season with a shot to leapfrog a pair of teams for the two seed.
Thanks to Macon's win over Pensacola tonight, the two teams are tied for second place in the league standings with 70 points. Just three points separate the Havoc from those two teams and they could lock down the No. 2 seed if Pensacola and Macon both lose out in regulation through the final weekend and the Havoc sweep their weekend games against Mississippi and Birmingham.
If the hockey gods work in Huntsville's favor, they'll enter Sunday's Challenge Round with second dibs at picking their first round playoff opponent. If they're unable to jump into the second or third spot in the standings they'll be at the mercy of the Challenge Round, but still receive home ice against whoever is left in the playoff pool after the top three seeds have made their selection.
