Street crews in Florence were busy Wednesday cleaning up damage from Tuesday night's storms.

Crews worked late into Tuesday night cleaning up downed trees on Sweetwater Avenue, Branch Street, N. Patton Street, and other streets near downtown Florence.

On Wednesday, crews choppec up large trees that fell on Freada Circle. Florence officials said at least 12 large trees fell within city limits. A large pine tree fell on a blue truck and completely crushed it on Foust road. Another tree barely missed a home but fell on a car in the front yard on Wilson Dam Road.

The homeowner, Candace Kimbrough, said she couldn't believe the tree fell but didn't damage her home.

"I do think it's very odd how nobody was hurt, and not even a window was knocked out," she said.

Multiple trees were reported down in Lauderdale County. Emergency management officials said they had no structural damage, despite all the downed trees.

Florence Utilities said almost all power was restored by Wednesday afternoon.
