An investigation is underway after a fire broke out in a pile of wood Wednesday night on Chadburn Drive in the Whitesburg Estate neighborhood.

The Fourth of July came and went, but not without doing a little damage. Nelda Mcallister was awoken to multiple fire trucks coming down her street.

"I got up and looked out the bathroom window and all the lights on them, you know, flashing on the fire trucks," Mcallister said.

Huntsville Fire and Rescue responded to an 11 P.M. call and tells WAAY31 the fire was contained within 30 minutes.

Huntsville Fire says at this time, they do not believe fireworks were involved. Mcallister is just happy everyone was safe.

"Just relieved that it didn't destroy a house or no one was hurt," Mcallister said.

Huntsville Fire and Rescue says they are trying to determine how that pile of wood at the house suddenly caught fire.
