Dodging showers Tuesday, close call for Trash Pandas home opener

Much of Tuesday remains dry with highs near 70 this afternoon. Widespread showers with a few embedded storms move into North Alabama tonight.

Heading into Tuesday afternoon most of North Alabama will remain dry other than a stray sprinkle or shower. We may even see enough breaks in the clouds for peeks of sunshine today. At 6:35 pm, the first pitch should be dry for the Trash Pandas first game ever at Toyota Field. However, the same can't be said for the late innings.

Most models indicate widespread rain by 10-11 pm, which could contain some embedded thunderstorms. Earlier than this time frame and we could have impacts to the baseball game. Have a poncho ready just in case but the odds favor no rain delay or postponement this evening. The good news? Our weekend games will be spectacular with mild temperatures and dry conditions.

Toward the end of the extended period, we finally start warming up. Highs next Sunday return to the 80° mark and it will be similarly seasonable to start the work week as well.
