The Decatur City School System is planning to drop its mask-wearing mandate.

The system will transition to a “mask preferred” policy on Nov. 1, the Decatur City Board of Education decided Tuesday.

According to a post on the system’s Facebook page, Superintendent Dr. Michael Douglas “will continue to monitor positive (coronavirus) cases and adjust the school’s masking policy as needed.”
