Moulton City firefighters and contractors are currently on the scene of several burned out buildings and surveying the damage from a fire that began about 8 p.m. Monday at Court Street Grill and spread to other businesses.
The fire began on the second floor of Court Street Grill before moving to Déjà Vu Salon, Jeremy’s Lock and Key and Tucker’s Accessory Tire and Auto, which was destroyed.

Residents say the fire is devastating to the city.
“It's very unreal that this has been here this long and would be gone,” said Jonathan Layman, who said he has lived in Moulton his entire life. “And all of these businesses were doing well and we were proud for our little square here.”
Early Tuesday afternoon, contractors tore down the front wall of Court Street Grill so firefighters could safely enter the building and investigate how the fire started.
“There's not a lot of industry around here so it's very painful because I know it's going to take a long time if ever to recover from this," said Rex Free.
“We'll bounce back. This community has been through tornadoes, we've been through a lot of things and we will bounce back.
“It will just be painful for a while."
Tuesday morning, the Moulton Fire Department is still working to put out hot spots in nearby businesses after a fire began about 8 p.m. Monday at Court Street Grill.
The fire spread to nearby businesses along Main Street, including Tucker’s Tire and Déjà vu salon.
“I have a lot of great memories here. It won't be the same after tomorrow when you ride through and see it gone. This is bad for Moulton," said Craig Autrey, who lives near Court Street Grill.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
According to Moulton Police Chief Lyndon McWhorter, Tucker's Auto and Tire Shop at 799 Main Street in downtown Moulton is on fire.
Police Chief McWhorter says the fire has spread to the store and other buildings are in danger.
Firefighters battled another fire at the Court Street Grill at 14335 Court Street in downtown Moulton Monday night.
McWhorter said officials believe the fire started on the second floor of the restaurant. He said it is located on the north side of the Moulton square, and it's surrounded by other businesses.
At least four fire departments are at the scene trying to keep the fire from spreading. Moulton, Hillsboro, Courtland and Caddo-Midway fire departments responded.
