A fire in the Shoals destroyed the inside of home in Center Star, according to volunteer firefighters.
The Center Star Volunteer Fire Chief told WAAY 31 the fire broke out a little before 7 a.m. at a vacant home on County Road 69.
A Lauderdale County bus driver saw smoke coming from the home and called 911. Firefighters said it was a difficult fire to battle because it was at the rear of the home and flames got up into the attic.
No one was in the home and no firefighters were injured. Officials have called in the State Fire Marshal's office because the home did not have any power to it. Officials don't know how the fire started or if it was intentionally set.
Center Star Volunteer Fire Department, Greenhill Volunteer Fire Department, Elgin Volunteer Fire Department, and the Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the house fire.
