Police rush to Huntsville apartment complex after shooting

Shooting victim rushed to Huntsville Hospital trauma unit.

Huntsville police are investigating after one man is shot at a Huntsville apartment complex. It happened Sunday night at Westlake Apartments on Sparkman Drive.

WAAY 31 talked to neighbors who told us they heard the shooting. One woman said she saw the victim on the ground in front of her apartment. She told us she's still trying to take in what happened.

"A little shook up and now I'm upset. Like I don't know the guy's condition. I really hope he's OK," said Kiana Ricks who lives at Westlake apartments.

Another woman, who also lives at the apartment complex, told us the people who live there aren't the problem and that she hopes the violence stops.

"Peace in this neighborhood. The's not even the people that live here that's doing all of this shooting and stuff. It's people from outside coming in here. Like people having company that, you know, it don't make sense," said Renee Williams.

Huntsville police are still looking for a suspect.
