Battle Book Club visits Morris Elementary

The book club raises funds to donate books to elementary students

The Huntsville Mayor's book club read and donated books to students ar Morris Elementary School today.

Each year, the book club raises funds to purchase books for students in the city's Title 1 schools.

Today, Mayor Tommy Battle along with school superintendent Matt Akin, presented books to several pre-k and kindergarden students.

The organization has donated more than 90,000 books in the last 10 years in an effort to promote literacy and a joy of learning.

This year, about 1,220 students will recieve a 3 books each.
