A woman is behind bars after police say she attacked a man Monday with a hatchet and billiard ball.
Hoover police say Donna Marie Brasher, 31, is charged with attempted murder after attacking her boyfriend in a domestic disturbance at a condominum. Investigators say Brasher the 58-year-old boyfriend told police Brasher attacked him with the hatchet after he refused to let her use his car. He later said Brasher struck him with a billiard ball in the chest and head.
Investigators say the boyfriend had multiple lacerations on his head, torso and legs. They later found the weapons they believe Brasher used to attack him.
Firefighters transported the victim to a Birmingham hospital where he remains in intensive care.
Brasher is in the Jefferson County Jail where she is being held on a $30,000 bond.
