The nonprofit organization “Free-2-Be” has officially closed all its locations Monday.
The LGBTQ Resource Center posted the closing on Facebook and their voicemail system that their offices are closed until further notice.
LGBTQ community members will have to find other outlets for support now that the nonprofit has closed its six resource centers across Alabama.
WAAY 31 first got wind of the closing on Wednesday after Free2Be notified other charities the group partners with that their services will no longer be available.
During our investigation the Executive Director did confirm that the Founder & CEO was voted out in January. Another board member left a month later and posted a statement on Facebook that has since been removed.
It’s unclear what prompted the non-profit organization's sudden and unexpected closing.
