2 taken to hospital after morning wreck

The wreck affected Memorial Parkway traffic for about an hour Friday morning.

Two people went to the hospital after a wreck Friday morning on a Memorial Parkway overpass, Huntsville first responders said.

The single-vehicle wreck happened around 6:40 a.m. on the parkway between Bob Wallace and Drake avenues.

HEMSI spokesman Don Webster said two people had to be freed from the car. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

There's no word on what caused the wreck.

The roadway was cleared by 7:45 a.m.
