UPDATE: Victim ID'd in deadly Hazel Green crash

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, leaving one person dead and another seriously hurt, according to HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster.

UPDATE: We now know the names of the people involved in a deadly crash Saturday morning in Hazel Green.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Johnnie David Pogue, 74, died when the 2007 Chevrolet Express Van he was driving was hit by a 2006 Chevrolet Impala.

Scott Eddings, 30, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, was driving that car.

Pogue, who was not using a seat belt, died at the scene. Eddings was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

One man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Hazel Green, according to HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster.

Webster says another man was seriously injured in the crash. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital in serious condition. 

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 231/431 North and Carriger Road.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating this crash, Webster said.
