Scottsboro City Schools will no longer require mask-wearing inside schools.

Make-wearing had been required the first four days of the school year that began Monday.

The school board voted 3 to 2 against a motion Thursday to extend the requirement to Aug. 19.

"I understand, and I see it both ways, but I think our main goal regardless of the way the vote is, is that everybody really wants to support the best interest of our children," said Amy Childress, Scottsboro City Schools Superintendent.
