 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 P.M. CDT FOR ALL COUNTIES OF NORTHERN ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN TENNESSEE.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Tennessee Valley until a Moderate Risk for strong thunderstorms and damaging winds until 9 P.M. Winds could potentially gust as high 80 mph, along with heavy rain and multiple lightning strikes. This is all due in part to a strong line of thunderstorms have developed over western Kentucky and southern Tennessee earlier this afternoon.  These storms will be moving from the Northwest to the Southeast between 4 to 9 p.m. across the entire viewing area.
