...Flash Flooding possible Today across southern Middle TN... .The combination of overly saturated grounds due to recent rainfall and the potential for training and backbuilding storms ahead of today`s frontal passage will create the potential for flash flooding for southern portions of Middle TN. 1 to 3 inches and potentially more is possible for those who have seen 4 to 7 inches in the last several days. Rains are currently expected to begin tapering off this evening, however if heavy rains persist into the evening hours, this watch may need to be extended. ...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * Flash Flood Watch for a portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following areas, Bedford, Coffee, Giles, Grundy, Lawrence, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Van Buren, Warren, and Wayne.

* Through this evening

* 1 to 3 inches, up to 4 inches is possible for areas that are already saturated.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including the following areas, in Alabama, Colbert, Cullman, De Kalb, Franklin AL, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan. In southern middle Tennessee, Franklin TN, Lincoln, and Moore.

* From 7 AM CDT this morning through Thursday evening

* Rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is expected from today through Thursday evening along with locally higher amounts. Based on the amount of rain that has previously fallen, this will result in a heightened threat for flash flooding. The potential for flash flooding will be even greater if training of storms occur.

* Low water crossings and poor drainage areas will likely be the locations with the highest risk of flash flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* Flood Warning for... Pontotoc County in northeastern Mississippi... Union County in northeastern Mississippi... Northern Itawamba County in northeastern Mississippi... Lee County in northeastern Mississippi... Southern Tishomingo County in northeastern Mississippi... Southern Prentiss County in northeastern Mississippi...

* Until 245 PM CDT Wednesday.

* At 842 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated over 6 inches of rain fell in portions of northeast Mississippi overnight. Although the heavy rain has diminished, flooding will continue through early afternoon. Creeks, streams, ditches, and poor drainage areas will most likely be affected.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. If you are driving in in northeastern Mississippi this morning, be extremely careful and watch out for flooding. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northern Marshall County in northeastern Alabama... Southeastern Madison County in north central Alabama...

* Until 100 PM CDT.

* At 953 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southern Huntsville, Guntersville, Owens Cross Roads, Grant, Union Grove, Eddy, Columbus City, Whitesburg and Lake Guntersville St Park.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
