OXFORD, Ohio – Wrapping up its regular season slate, the University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell on the road to No. 20 Miami by a 4-1 score. The Chargers finish with a 2-28-1 mark, while Miami improves to 17-13-2. UAH fans will have a final opportunity to catch the 2011-12 squad at home on Feb. 24 and 25 when the U.S. National Under-18 team visits Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center.

It was the Chargers that scored first on Saturday night as Sebastian Geoffrion tallied his second goal of the season – an unassisted marker just into the second period at 1:28.

The score remained tilted towards the Blue and White for much of the middle frame until Miami used a pair of rapid succession strikes to pull ahead Alex Wideman scored a power-play goal at 16:33 and Matt Tomassoni put one past Clarke Saunders at 16:47.

Putting the game away, another quick pair of scores midway through the third period put Miami on top 4-1. The goals came less than a minute apart with Bryon Paulazzo scoring at 8:49 and Alden Hirschfield notching a goal at 9:38.

For the game, the Chargers were outshot by a 48-16 clip as Saunders finished the night with 44 saves. UAH was 0-for-4 on the power play, while the RedHawks converted on one of their six opportunities with the man-advantage.

The Friday night contest against the Under-18s is slated for 7 p.m. While Saturday's contest will get underway at 3 p.m.
