Huntsville, AL - After the Huntsville Havoc kissed and made up with prodigal goaltender Mark Sibbald, many fans were hoping it would be a turning point in the season.
It looks like it was. Unfortunately, things appear to have turned from bad to worse.
The Havoc lost their fourth straight game since Sibbald's return, with three of those losses being hung on Sibbald's stat sheet.
Tuesday, the Columbus Cottonmouths had their way with the Havoc, scoring 7 goals on Sibbald on just 24 shots.
The blame for the losses doesn't just rest with the goaltender however. A porous defense has done little to help their backstop this season, whether it was Sibbald, Matt Hache, Kevin Beech or Corey Milan. Recent changes to the blueline have done little to change the outcome of games.
The SPHL's more than generous policy of allowing 8 or the 9 teams in the league to make the playoffs will all but guarantee the Havoc a spot in the second season.
