FYFFE Ala (WAAY) - Whether you're a true believer or not, UFO Days in Fyffe is a fun way to celebrate a Tennessee Valley town and its mysterious past.

"UFO is really an Unforgettable Family Outing. We had the sighting of UFO's back in February or March of 1989, and the former mayor said 'Hey! Why don't we just turn lemons into lemonade?'," said CJ Jolley, festival Co-Coordinator

The story behind Fyffe's UFO's sightings is that on two consecutive nights in 1989, more than 50 people called the police claiming to see strange lights in the sky.

In 2005 the mayor started UFO Days, a festival to celebrate the town and its history.

"We use a UFO theme, but mainly its just a big ole' festival. We've got Gospel music, Country music, a little Southern Rock, stuff like that. Its not going to get as big as Bonnaroo or Woodstock, but I hope maybe later, we could add the bigger headliners," Jolley said

Whether they came for the a love of the supernatural, the music, or the food, everyone agreed UFO Days was an Unforgettable Family Outing.

"Its just everyone here having so much fun and just being together. Its just everything," said Patrick Johnson.
